Before you started training how did you feel about your body?

Very uncomfortable, clothes shopping was something I dreaded and would often end in me being

close to tears. Summer and holidays were also things I didn’t look forward to as I wouldn’t feel

comfortable in summer clothes - I felt repulsive.

How do you feel now?

I feel amazing! For the first time in my adult life, I feel confident about my body and this has

changed my overall attitude to life. I look forward to social events, summer and holidays because I

feel and look great.

Other than physically how has training changed you?

It has changed my attitude towards food and exercise. I now enjoy going to the gym, it is no longer

a chore and I no longer run out of the gym 30 minutes after arriving having done nothing!

I am now also more aware of how my diet impacts my body. I try to be more careful about what I put

in my body and aim to freshly prepare as much of what I eat, as possible. Food is no longer my enemy,

I now have a greater understanding and appreciation for the impact a healthy diet and lifestyle

can and does have on my body.

What was your relationship with food like prior to personal training?

For some reason, I didn’t make the connection between the junk I was eating and the weight I was

gaining for quite a while. In my head, as long as I went to the gym, I could eat whatever I wanted, so

I did. I thought it was acceptable to eat junk constantly throughout the day because “ What

difference would one cheeseburger really make?”

Food was also used as emotional comfort, if I was sad or bored then I’d eat, even if I wasn’t hungry.

I had a very unhealthy relationship with food.

How is your relationship with food now?

I definitely have a healthier relationship with food now.

I really enjoy cooking and eating healthy. A big bowl of cereal covered in sugar for breakfast is

now pretty disgusting to me but it’s something I would happily have eaten 1 year ago.

I still have the odd naughty treat but healthy eating is definitely a key part of my life and I hope that

never changes.

How active were you prior to personal training?

Not active at all, I hated sport and dreaded the idea of coming to the gym, especially alone.

Could you explain, in a couple of sentences, why you picked me to train you?

Honestly you’re a friend and I’d seen you lose 4 stone yourself so I knew you could help. I

like that you had lost weight yourself and I thought you looked amazing, not skinny but slim and toned - strong!

Before you started training how did you feel about your body?

I hated it, I avoided mirror and always wore baggy clothes to hide my lumps and bumps.

How do you feel now?

I’m still very critical of myself but I can see such a difference, I have confidence to change in front of my partner and go swimming without thinking everyone is looking at me.

Other than physically how has training changed you?

I have confidence and I enjoy food again, I eat food that makes me feel good and has a purpose not just snacking on junk.

What was your relationship with food like prior to personal training? How is your relationship with food now?

I ate when I was bored, or tired or sad or happy! Now I eat to fuel my workouts, I enjoy healthy food because I understand what it does to my body and how it effects the way I feel.

What are your goals now?

To build some more muscle, increase my strength and continue finding new ways to make my

workouts enjoyable.

Would you recommend Personal Training?

Definitely, i wouldn't be where I am today without Charlie’s help.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?
